I attended first batch during May June 2020. Course content and overall flow of course is well thought and suitable for both beginners and for advance level. Study material is reader friendly and drafted keeping beginner level in mind. Course includes online quiz, DIY activities, regular observation of butterflies in participants area etc. Faculties are always approachable and helpful. Sessions by Isacc sir are best part of the course. With his stories, he literally takes participants on virtual butterfly watching trips to various parts of India. Very well coordinated course. Course Faculty: Isaac Kehimkar
A lepidopterist who has been pursuing butterflies through his camera for the past 25 years. His pursuance gave India its first modern Field Guide to Indian Butterflies. He is the elected member of the Governing Council of the Bombay Natural History Society and has been associated with them for 35 years. He is known for his excellent wildlife photography and immense knowledge about natural history. His other publications include Common Wildflowers and Moths. He started his passion for wildlife with reptiles and then got involved with several other subjects and finally settled with butterflies. He is aptly known as 'Living Natural History Encyclopedia' and 'Butterfly Man'.
Course Faculty: Dr. V.Shubhalaxmi
An award winning entomologist, educationist and entrepreneur, Dr. Shubhalaxmi has excelled in all her field of expertise. A moth researcher in 1993 with BNHS , becoming an environmental educator in 1997 and eventually transforming into an ecopreneur in 2014 after quitting her job- is a reckoning story of perseverance and resilience. Nature conservation and environmental protection is her domain. Her key competencies are organization development and business development. She founded three entities ; Ladybird Environmental Consulting, iNaturewatch Foundation and Birdwing Publishers. She has experience of designing and running online courses for over a decade. Courses run by her in her previous organization-BNHS were most popular ones.
Course Faculty: Dr. George Mathew
Dr Georg Mathew a consultant on butterfly conservation is an Emeritus Scientist (KSCSTE) at Kerala Forest Research Institute. He has published 66 Scientific papers and three books and various popular articles. He has standardized methods for setting up butterfly parks. Popularized the concept of gardening. He was selected as the "Green Hero" of conservation by CNN-IBN and the Jade magazine.

As a whole the course was very informative wherein Routine project work that includes field survey and DIY gave us field experience and experimental
knowledge about how to make butterfly bait, butterfly mud puddling site, and butterfly caterpillar rearing kits. Online Assignments, Video Lectures and Videos were very useful and informative which gave first hand knowledge about butterflies and all the things associated with it, be it butterfly life cycle, butterfly rearing, butterfly photography or butterfly gardening. Video Conferences gave us chance to go live with renowned personalities who have and are still contributing much in the field of butterflies like Mr.Isaac
Kehimkar, Dr. V Shubhalaxmi and Mr. Rajendra Ovalekar. Chapters were very informative and Quiz kept the whole course a two way process and enable us to test ourselves.
