Learn about bugs, birds, plants, kitchen gardening and gardening for wildlife virtually! Learn real facts, enjoy experiential learning, get outdoors on your self-guided field trips and get mentored online!  

These courses are designed for non-science professionals, so anybody with inclination towards nature could sign up.

We use an online platform as our course management software, registered participants could access these courses through an access code.

Gardening for Wildlife!



As the cities are expanding and getting smarter, the natural spaces are shrinking and becoming fewer, we urban denizens could yet create spaces for wildlife to thrive into our small and big gardens. Interestingly metros and cities of India still host a wide range of wildlife that has mastered the art of living with us. 

We, therefore, designed the first online course in India on Gardening for Wildlife. The aim of the course is to provide ideas and tools on establishing gardens for wildlife especially bees, butterflies and birds.


Course Structure

Course Duration: 3 months

Study Resources: 6 chapters with videos

Activities offered: Online assignments (6), Google Hangouts with experts (6), Field Visits (3), Project work (1), Hands on activities (3) and final exam (1). Audit/Credit options are available for learners. In case you find completing the assignments difficult you may choose to audit the course and we will provide you the certificate for the same. Credit means you will get grades based on your assignments and same will reflect in your certificates

Insects are the most abundant animals on earth. More than one million different types of insects have been identified. They live in just about every habitat and climate on earth. They have lived on earth for more than 300 million years. If you take the time to observe them carefully, you will find them very interesting. 

Some insects eat our crops or food in storage; others can bite or sting us, our livestock, or our pets. A few insects spread diseases. Some eat our clothing and other household furnishings, and some even eat the wood in our homes. Certain insects are helpful to us by producing products we can use (for example, honey), by pollinating our crops, or by attacking pest insects.

India is home to an amazing diversity of bird species. We are blessed with more than 1300 species. Owing to the popularity of birds and bird watching around us we are happy to launch a short term online course on Birds for Beginners. Eminent ornithologists will be involved as experts for chats, field visits and study modules. It is a graded course and you will receive a Certificate after successful completion of the course.
As the name suggests, the course is suitable for amateur nature enthusiasts such as students, teachers and families. If birds excite you and you do not have any science background, this course might help you fuel your passion.

Kitchen Gardening for Beginners

Growing your own food is relishing nature’s bounties within your home environment. 

If you are lucky enough to live in an apartment/bungalow with a garden space or balcony, you may be able to grow a garden in part of the space. Interestingly, garden growing in the city is not as hard as it sounds. Ironically it doesn’t require a lot of space. You can easily have a container garden on your balcony or window sill. You might be surprised what you can grow in a container from vegetables, herbs, salad dressings to fruits. Your gardening efforts will most likely yield more fresh produce than you can handle. 

We will provide you virtual mentorship in establishing a kitchen garden at your place. The coursework will ensure that by end of the course we leave you with a functional and sustainable garden created just by you.
